Prevent Child Abuse Porter County (PCAPC) has been serving our community for the last 15 years. Each year PCAPC hosts a multitude of fundraisers with the capstone event being the annual gala. This year PCAPC will sponsor a Mardi Gras themed semi-formal gala on February 20, 2010. This event provides the majority of the organization’s funding for the year.
You are invited to participate in this 11th Annual Gala at Old Town Banquet in Valparaiso. Tickets are $50 per person. Steve Zana of Indiana 105.5 will provide entertainment. The silent auction will feature a Mobil Team leather Jacket donated by Quality Oil, four box seat season tickets from the Railcats, and many other items generously donated by local businesses.
Here is just a small sample of what Prevent Child Abuse Porter County accomplished in 2009:
Attended many local health and activity fairs to disperse information on abuse prevention; Assembled new parent gift bags full of information and tools to assist new parents in stress management and abuse and neglect prevention; Staffed, funded and increased awareness for the Child Advocacy Center located on Rt. 49 near the Porter County Expo Center; Funded law enforcement training opportunities and sponsored a member drive for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
If you wish to purchase tickets, mail your check with Gala Tickets in the memo to PO Box 1846, Valparaiso, IN 46384. The gala committee is also still accepting silent auction donations. Please visit pcapc.org for more information about Prevent Child Abuse Porter County.
