It’s not too late to sign up for one of the best golf outings of the summer.

Tudor Services’ sixth annual Golf Outing to support Hoosier Burn Camp is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 9 at The Course at Aberdeen (245 N. Tower Rd.) in Valparaiso.  Registration begins at 9 a.m., and shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Hoosier Burn Camp serves Indiana’s young people ages 8-18 who have suffered the pain and trauma of being caught in a fire.  For many of these children, Hoosier Burn Camp is the only opportunity to connect with other burn survivors, play in the outdoors without another child looking or asking about their skin.  Hoosier Burn Camp is “A Place to Be Just One of the Kids”…and so much more.

James Tudor of Tudor Cleaning Restoration Services in Valparaiso calls the Hoosier Burn Camp Golf Outing a huge success. A few years ago, Tudor asked Phil Griffith (in charge of Homeland Security for the area) how they could help children who were burned in fires.

Thus was born the golf outing. The events have generated nearly $60,000 for the Hoosier Burn Camp.

Tudor is once again asking for support for the Hoosier Burn Camp by golfing, sponsoring a hole, or just donating some gifts for the outing. Any monetary donations will also be appreciated.

Golf Outing registration is $90 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch and dinner, hole contests, beverage carts, opportunity for skins, awards and door prizes.

Sponsors are also needed to underwrite event costs.  Sponsorship opportunities include event sponsors (gold, silver and bonze), hole sponsors ($100) and meal sponsors.  Door prize donations are also welcomed.

Participation helps a Hoosier child and their family.  For more information, or to request a registration form, contact Tudor at 465-6904, or email  Checks made payable to Hoosier Burn Camp can be sent to James Tudor-Tudor Services 443 E. US Highway 30, Valparaiso, IN 46383.

Camp activities strive to build confidence, encourage perseverance, build self-esteem, develop courage to overcome fears, build on strengths, stimulate independence and show mutual acceptance and respect. Activities include canoeing, photography, fishing, archery, riflery, swimming, crafts, scrapbooking, horseback riding, sports and campouts.

HBC staff includes traditional summer camp counselors, doctors, nurses, therapists, fire service personnel and adult burn survivors who volunteer their time at camp. One counselor is provided for every two campers.

If you know a burn survivor who would benefit from Hoosier Burn Camp or have questions about HBC, call executive director Mark Koopman at (756) 296-8869, 800-254-2878, (756) 242-9501 or
