For the past 34 years, Steiner Homes has been building custom homes in NW Indiana, throughout Porter and Lake County. Despite a continued challenging economy, the company has been blessed with a steady flow of new home construction, going back the past three years.

Dan Steiner, group president, said, “We have been very blessed with the terrific customers that are honoring us with the opportunity to build for them. We are working diligently each day, to provide a fair price, have our customers enjoy the process, and build a beautiful home. I have a wonderful team, and our design, sales, selections, building, and warranty processes are all done, in-house.”

Residential Designer Adam Steiner does the in-house design work for Steiner Homes. Residential Designer Jessica deKock guides the customers through the selection process. Director of Operations Ryan Zentz , along with Courtney Krull, coordinate the building effort. Dan Steiner is on the work sites daily, and Val Steiner handles all of the books and banking for the company. It is truly a family business.

The company continues to promote their own floor plans and also welcomes custom plans provided by the homeowner. “We are currently building seven homes and they are all at different stages of the building process,” said Dan Steiner. “Three of the homes are custom plans, brought to us by our customers. The other four homes that we are building are plans that our customers have made changes, to fit their lifestyle and family size.”

The newest addition to the Steiner model home arsenal is “The Emma” 1.5-story, master-on-the-main floor plan.

This 3,921 square foot model is featured in The Highlands subdivision, just south of U.S. 30, off Hayes Leonard Road at 152 Carrington Circle.

The completion date for the home is the end of October.

“An Arts & Crafts front elevation, featuring cedar shakes, gable pediments, and stone, make this new home a real show-stopper,” said Adam Steiner. The home features four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a three-car garage, and 729 finished square feet in the basement.

The one-plus acre lot in Center Township is an added benefit to this home site. The owners will be only minutes from the Valparaiso restaurants and retail, and less than one hour from downtown Chicago.
