Seventy-five volunteers of St. Agnes Adult Day Care Center were honored with a luncheon at Old Towne Banquet Hall in Valparaiso. More than 80 volunteers, family and St. Agnes board members acknowledged the success of the volunteers in serving the daily needs of the St. Agnes guests.

There were 11,932 total volunteer hours provided to St. Agnes guests. Barb Kubiszak, director, and Terry Dickus, activity director, awarded service pins reflecting the hours each individual donated to St. Agnes.

The time donated represents nearly 500, full 24-hour days. The total number of hours donated since St. Agnes opened in 1996 stands at 163,070, or the equivalent of 6,794, 24-hour days.

Tipping the charts last year was Larry Gajewski, who amassed 612 hours last year. Other high-time volunteer are: Bill Andrick, 447 hours last year, 5,839 cumulative; Florence Carson, 105 hours in 2010, 1,337 cumulative; John Mutka, 173 in 2010, 915 cumulative; and Ed Savage, 245 hours last year, 645 cumulative hours.
