Members of the Valparaiso Boys & Girls Clubs got a treat recently when the Valparaiso Kohl’s department store donated children’s books as part of their Kohl’s Cares for Kids Program.

Kohl’s sells children-friendly cause merchandise, with 100 percent of the net profit donated to support kids’ health and education initiatives in communities nationwide.

Since 2000, more than $180 million has been raised through Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise program.

The Boys & Girls Club of Porter County provides children ages 5 to 18 with programming that focuses on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. The Boys & Girls Clubs offers $25 annual membership ($20 at the Duneland Club) with sites in Valparaiso, South Haven, Duneland and Portage.
