Free Pet Food for Struggling Families

On Saturday, 9 a.m. until noon, The Kibble Kitchen Pet Pantry, Inc. will offer free supplemental pet food to individuals and families of Porter County suffering from financial hardship. During this time Smoochie Pooch Mobile Pet Spa will also donate its services by offering free nail trims for animals within the community. To qualify for free pet food individuals/families must meet certain guidelines: must be a resident of Porter County suffering financial hardship; be 18 years or older; one applicant per household; must provide photo ID and proof of address with application. All applicants must supply proof of financial hardship — Social Security Disability,

unemployment, disabled Veteran, foreclosure. All applicants must supply proof of Income.

Which can be verified by any of the following — A copy of the latest income tax return, a copy of the latest check stub, a letter signed by your employer, which verifies employment. Other papers that would be accepted to provide proof of monthly income are Social Security Award letter, unemployment award letter, disability award letter, food stamps or Medicaid eligibility letter. We will also accept a referral from your local trustee, food pantry,

church or social worker to confirm your income. Food is limited and is not guaranteed. The pantry is located in the Portage Commons Plaza, U.S. 6 and Willowcreek Road in Portage. For more information, contact KibbleKitchen@hotmail.com or call 734-6936.
