Parke County known as covered bridge capital

With more than 31 covered bridges located within its borders, Parke County is known as the covered bridge capital of the world.

This peaceful and tranquil location offers much to do in a relaxing manner, allowing visitors to slow down and enjoy themselves. Home to the 55th annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival from Oct. 14-23, an expansive Amish territory, lakes, creeks and rivers to fish and float on, historic buildings and scenic back roads.

It also offers several state parks including Turkey Run State Park, Raccoon Lake State Park and Rockville State Park for those who enjoy hiking and taking in nature’s beautiful scenery.
