Sportsmen’s interest ramp up with fall season

It’s fall, when a sportsman’s attention turns to hunting, fishing and other outdoors activities.
Join the Bass Pro Shops staff while we honor our heroes with Labor Day activities.

The Portage Bass Pro Shops will be giving away prizes such as autographed posters of bass angler Kevin VanDam and NASCAR driver Jamie McMurray. Learn new tips and refresh old techniques. Bass Pro Shops will also host activities and crafts for kids too!

It is going to be two fun-filled weekends. All activities will be run from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Bass Pro Shops in Portage on
Sept. 3rd-4th and then a week later on Sept. 10th-11th
It is that time of the year for all hunters, fishermen and campers to get ready for fall activities. Workshops are being offered, take advantage of them.

Workshops on tap are:

Hunters Safety Course

Portage Bass Pro Shops will be hosting a Hunter’s Safety Course on Sept. 24. It runs from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Book your reservation as attendance is limited. The course will be hosted in the seminar room on the second floor of the Bass Pro Shops in Portage.

Fly Fishing Seminar

Aug. 16 – Sept. 6, Aug. 30 — Sept 20, Sept. 6 – Sept. 27
Fly-tying clinic
Join our Fly Fishing staff for our weekly fly-tying clinics. The staff will assist customers of all levels, from beginner to expert. The staff will cover all aspects of fly tying to include basic tools of the trade to what flies are popular for the area. The clinics will be held in the Fly Fishing shop at 6:30 p.m. at the Bass Pro Shops in Portage.
