The volunteers will work the front desk at the visitor center, located at 1215 N. State Road 49 in Porter. Tasks include answering the phone, filling brochure racks and greeting visitors who enter the visitor center. Volunteers should be familiar with Porter County since they will answer questions and direct visitors to attractions, restaurants, shops and hotels throughout the county.

The visitor center is currently open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers are asked to volunteer a minimum of one day per week for three hours.

“We are looking for people-oriented volunteers who would like to share their knowledge and excitement about the area with visitors,” said Patti Boyer, operations director at Indiana Dunes Tourism.  For information, visit www.indianadunes.com With transparent gathering brushes, stamp tools and layering options, students can playfully generate ideas for story characters or product designs
