The little girl jumped up on Grandpa’s lap and slowly ran her fingers over his bald head and whiskered cheeks and said:

“Grandpa, did God make you?”
Grandpa replied, “Yes, he did.”
She then ran her fingers over her own hair and smooth cheeks.
“Did God make me, too?”
Grandpa replied again, “Yes, he did.”
She thought for a minute and said,
“Don’t you think he’s doing a better job these days?”

Low Vision Support Group

We welcome all persons at our meetings, whether or not they have low vision.  Within Porter County and during daylight hours, call the Porter County Aging & Community Services bus at 462-4302 for a free door-to-door ride for the legally blind, or $1 each way for others.  Phone a week or two ahead.   • Portage  – Fourth Monday of the month at 2 p.m., Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage, 6235 Sterling Creek Road (just south of Lowes).  The next meeting will be held May 28. Light refreshments will be provided.
  • Valparaiso  – Tuesday, May. 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 103 N. Franklin. Light refreshments will be provided.
  • Tuesday, May. 22 at 10 a.m., Pines Village Retirement Communities (first floor, Celebration Room), 3303 Pines Village Circle, The building is located behind Whispering Pines Health Care Center (3301 N. Calumet). Light refreshments will be provided.
