Volunteers Honored By Center for Possibilities During National Volunteer Week

In honor of National Volunteer Week, Center for Possibilities held a reception on Thursday, April 19 to recognize those who freely give of their time and talent to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

As a token of appreciation, volunteers were treated to appetizers and frappé prepared by the center’s own in-house culinary team, Chef Dale Spencer and Sous Chef Carmella Drake.  Renae Brantley, executive director, announced the “Shirt Off Your Back Award” for those individuals who are willing to do anything, even give the shirt off their back, to assist Center for Possibilities in their efforts to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The following individuals received the “Shirt Off Your Back Award” which included a specially designed T-shirt: Valerie DeBusk, Carmella Drake, George Frencl, Marcella Lemos and Deanna Paras.  The following individuals were also honored for their volunteer efforts:  Amber Blanton, Valerie DeBusk, Carmella Drake, Debbie Fleszewski, George Frencl, Andrea Green, Chris Heinemann,  Richard Hertaus, Sandra Huddleston, Deborah Jackson, Elzadie Johnson, Ella Kelly, Ray & Deb Killion, Connie Kubica, Richard & Carolyn LeBron, Marcella Lemos, Jeanette Maldonado, Michelle Manson, Denise McKee, Karen Meersman, Courtney Metz, Beth Mikolajczyk, Toni Modglin, George Murray, Kathy Nelson, Karen Olsen, Deanna Paras, Hilda Rivera, Kim Silva, Brenda  Slusher, Mona Tellez, Dr. Brian  Thompson, Erica Velazquez, Jazmyn Velazquez, Angel Velazquez, Dorothea West and Georgine Winkler.  In addition, the following board members were also recognized for their volunteer service to Center for Possibilities: Joseph Benjamin, Frances Beverly, Jim Burns, William Hahn, James Holcomb, Richard Hutter, Paul Kloth, John Kmetz, Louidajean Payton, Timothy Spisak, Patricia Starbuck and Andrew Wielgus.
