Local fire, police to compete in 5th Annual Battle of the Badges

Eight local police and fire departments will put their skills on the basketball court to the test in the 5th annual Battle of the Badges tournament. The tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19, at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter County – South Haven Club, 723 Long Run Road in Valparaiso.

The Battle of the Badges tournament begins May 18 with tip off at 5 p.m. Participating teams are from the South Haven Fire Department, Chesterton Police Department, Hebron Fire and Police departments, Porter County Sheriff’s Department, Portage Police Department, LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department, Chesterton Fire Department and Valparaiso Fire Department.   Championship games begin at 9 a.m. on May 19.

Battle of the Badges is open to the public. Come and cheer on your local public safety teams.  Admission to the game is $3 for adults and $1 for children with an adult.
