Fall Storytimes at South Haven Public Library

Bring your child to the South Haven Library to enjoy stories, crafts, songs and more.  Storytimes are held on Tuesday mornings beginning Sept. 18 and ending Dec. 4. Toddler times (ages 2 and 3) are 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. and preschool times (ages 4 and 5) are 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Registration opens on Sept. 1 and remains open until sessions are filled. There is a one-time materials fee of $3 for the fall session.

Hobart Y Offers Senior Wii Bowling

Love the lanes but haven’t gotten out to them in a while? Then participate in seniors Wii bowling league.
Adult/senior (ages 50+) Wii bowling league registration is open now through August 30. The league runs Sept. 4 through Nov. 6. This is a 10-week mixed bowling league. Teams will be made up of two bowlers. If you don’t have a partner, we can find one for you.  Each team will bowl once a week, bowling two games in succession. Games are played on Tuesdays with times varying between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Steel Wheels BMX

Mark your calendars and join the BMX racing fun at Portage’s Imagination Glen.  The lighted track extends racing opportunities.  Everyone is welcome to come to practices. 

Helmets, elbow guards, and long pants are required.  Bikes must have pegs, chain guards and front / rear reflectors removed and have working brakes.  Loaner bikes available for a reasonable rental fee.  Loaner helmets available at no charge.  Concessions and restrooms are available.   

Practice days are Tuesdays and Fridays, from 6 to 9 p.m.  The cost is $5.  Practice will not be moved indoors due to rain. 

Race days are Thursdays and Saturdays.  Sign-ups held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Thursday fees are $7 for class/cruiser and $3 for open. Saturday fees are $10 class/cruiser and $5 open. Racing events will be moved indoors due to rain. Visit for more information.
