Since April 2011, Kibble Kitchen has provided pet food, collars, treats and toys to Porter County residents, rescue organizations and even shelters.

“Of the 300+ pets whose owners requested assistance directly from us, just 20 percent were spayed or neutered,” said Kibble Kitchen’s founder and Executive Director Michelle Duca. “In January 2012, we implemented a requirement that all pets receiving assistance from Kibble Kitchen be altered.”

The Kibble Kitchen has been able to provide discounted spay/neuter surgeries through community donations, low cost clinics and payment plans. “Our goal is to spay or neuter 500 animals by next summer,” Duca said. “It will depend, in part, on the money raised at this event.”

Funds raised at the dinner will go toward the cost of spaying or neutering and vaccinating cats and dogs owned by low-income Porter County residents. “Our financial goal for this event is $25,000, which could fund the alteration of 500 or more Porter County pets.
