Over 870 people participated in October’s Century of Progress home tours, which were jointly hosted by the National Park Service and the Dunes National Park Association.

The sold-out tours each lasted 75 minutes and explored the five historic homes once featured in the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair:   Cypress Log Cabin, House of Tomorrow, Florida Tropical Home, Armco-Ferro House, and Wieboldt-Rostone home.

After decades of vacancy and neglect, the homes are being restored to their original beauty through a unique private lease program supported by a partnership between the National Park Service and Indiana Landmarks.

Participants of the home tours were able to witness the homes’ evolving transformations, meet some of the current leases responsible for remodeling the homes, and catch a glimpse of the homes’ past and future potentials.
