The board of Northern Indiana’s official regional tourism organization recently named Jack Arnett, executive director of the La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau, its new president.
Arnett, who has headed the La Porte County tourism bureau since 2007, will begin serving as president immediately. In that capacity, he will oversee the seven-county organization, which utilizes a regional approach to help improve buying power and broaden marketing capabilities for the member counties. The Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission (NITDC) also increases employment and economic development of the hospitality industry throughout the region by focusing on the needs of the visitor.
Porter, St. Joseph, Marshall, Elkhart, Kosciusko and LaGrange counties join LaPorte County in filling out the organization’s membership.
“I am deeply honored by having been elected to serve as president of NITDC,” Arnett said. “It’s very humbling to follow behind those who have previously served, most of whom are leaders across the country in our industry.”
