After a serious illness or injury, rehabilitation can make the difference in how fully and how quickly it is possible to resume normal life activities and return home or to work.

Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation’s Moving Forward program is designed for those striving to restore abilities lost due to stroke, cardiovascular difficulties, orthopedic surgery and other debilitating conditions. The goal is to return participants home safely with the skills needed to continue life on their own terms.

Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation, which is operated by American Senior Communities, also offers around-the-clock advanced pulmonary care to Moving Forward patients, providing them with the assurance that treatment is available at any time. The advanced pulmonary care program is dedicated to caring for those with specialized pulmonary needs in the comfort of private Moving Forward Suites. These services include c-pap and bi-pap care, nebulizer treatment and suctioning, treating people with pulmonary illnesses including COPD, pneumonia and chronic emphysema.

The Moving Forward program provides physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/language therapy tailored to the individual. A free in-home evaluation is provided prior to discharge to ensure a safe and successful discharge home. Upscale benefits in the Moving Forward wing include private suites and elegant family lounge areas.

Schedule a tour of Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation, located at 606 Wall St., by calling Admissions and Marketing Director Cory Soller at 219-464-4976.
