On Saturday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m., Dunes Learning Center, in partnership with Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, will present the first in a series of pop-up programs combining cuisine and curiosity. The evening will feature a presentation by Dr. Ken Schoon, an original menu created by Chef Tom Boldt and beer pairings from Goose Island Brewery.

Boldt has drawn from his experiences in fine restaurants across the country to assemble a five-course “harvest” menu evoking the history of the region and complementing Schoon’s entertaining historical overview. Served inside Dunes Learning Center’s rustic Cowles Lodge, surrounded by a canopy of leaves and a chorus of frogs, this will be a night to remember.

 “If you are over the age of 13, it’s likely that you’ve never visited Dunes Learning Center,” said executive director, Geof Benson. “We’re hoping to provide more adults with an opportunity to visit this special place.” The “pop-up” series is designed to do just that. Watch for these unique pairings of programs and chefs every couple of months.
