Taltree Arboretum & Gardens welcomes children kindergarten through fifth grade to participate in this year’s Trail of Scarecrows contest.

Student groups read a story, create a scarecrow based on a story character, then write an essay about how their scarecrow represents the chosen story character.

“This is a great way for children to learn team building skills and to bring their chosen story to life.” said Alexis R. Faust, president and CEO of Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. “For the entire month of October, the entries will dot the arboretum to create a trail of scarecrows, which will become part of a much bigger fall festival celebration.”
