The work of Richard Gosswiller
An opening reception for the exhibit, “A Life in Clay: The Ceramics of Richard Gosswiller,” will held Sunday, July 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Chesterton Art Center, 115 S. 4th St.
Gosswiller passed away in 2010, leaving a home full of beautiful ceramics his wife Marianne is now sharing with the community.
A writer and editor by day, Gosswiller kept art as an important component of his free time. He studied painting at the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1993, a friend and skilled potter, John Hoppe, introduced him to ceramics by encouraging him to enroll in a pottery class at the Fernwood Nature Center in Buchanan, Michigan
