Michael Koscielniak
The Village Gallery will host a double feature art event on Sunday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m. featuring unique art work both inside and out. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Multi-media artist Michael Koscielniak will describe his current painting style, layerism. Employing color as a tool to create movement, harmony and depth into a two-dimensional illusion, he allows the viewer to move forward and back around the canvas. His solo exhibit will be on display through Aug. 7.
The newly-installed sculptures at the Valpo Art Walk at Cumberland Crossing will also be featured. Gregg Hertzlieb, curator of the Brauer Art Museum, will take the audience through a visual presentation on the significance of the 16 sculptures and their artists.
The Art Walk is a free outdoor sculpture exhibit. The City of Valparaiso art project is made possible with private donors and the Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission and is supported by Urschel Development Corporation.
The Village Gallery at Pines Village Retirement Communities is located at 3303 Pines Village Circle (off Calumet Avenue just north of Cumberland Crossing) in Valparaiso. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is no admission charge.
