Annual Aunt Kitty’s Yard Sale

The Independent Cat Society (ICS) will hold its annual Aunt Kitty’s Trash and Treasure Fall Yard Sale at the ICS Shelter on U.S. 6 and County Line Road in Westville on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Along with yard sale bargains, there will be catnip, catnip toys, mats, T-shirts, jewelry, home-baked goods and much more. There will also be homemade vittles and treats for sale while you shop at the 3 Old Cat Ladies Café. All proceeds benefit the Independent Cat Society.

Donations are needed, so clean out your closets, garages, attics and basements and bring your donations to the ICS on Friday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No large furniture or clothing, please.

While you are there, check out the many wonderful cats and kittens available for adoption. The Independent Cat Society will hold its annual “Black Cat Boogie” fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 25th from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Old Town Banquet Center, 711 Calumet in Valparaiso.

The shelter is celebrating 37 years as a “no kill” shelter.  There will be dinner, live entertainment by Starr Entertainment, raffles, silent auctions and a cash bar.

Tickets are $35 per person.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be held at the door.
