Audience members will be invited to prepare easy and healthy meals alongside Executive Chef Mark Anthony during live cooking demonstrations held throughout the day.

Ladies planning to attend this year’s Women’s Fair  will have the opportunity to gain new insights on important health factors and for the first time ever, schedule an appointment for an initial visit onsite.

The 2014 IU Health LaPorte Hospital’s Women’s Fair will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Blue Chip Stardust Event Center in Michigan City. The event, which promises to be more interactive than ever before, will feature engaging exhibits along with three special keynote presentations.

In addition, attendees can participate in free screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, strength and balance assessments, body fat and weight analysis, hearing loss, oral cancer and breast cancer (clinical breast exams).

Executive Chef Mark Anthony, who has lost over 80 pounds from simply enjoying a healthier diet, will perform cooking demonstrations throughout the day, during which he will share secrets for living younger, longer.  Audience members will prepare meals alongside Anthony while also learning how to eat healthy on a budget and develop healthy menus for the family.

Attendees are encouraged to register for Women’s Fair in advance online, and be entered into a drawing for exciting prizes. Healthy vendors will be onsite, and other giveaways and drawings will take place throughout the day.
