The Portage Food Pantry Board recently honored its volunteers and installed new officers at a gathering at the Bonner Center.

Officers who will be serving the board for 2015 include President Judy Mollway; Vice-President Bonnie Gibson; Secretary Martha Bonander; Treasurer Douglas Simkin; and Financial Secretary Linda Roque.

Volunteers served the pantry a total of 8,971 hours during its operating year, which ended in September. Also during that time period, the pantry provided carts of food to 17,255 needy residents from Portage Township.

The pantry, which is located in back of the New Vistas Opportunities Center at 5391 Central Ave. in Portage, is open on the first, second, and fourth Fridays of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. On the second week of the month, it is open on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.  If a month has a fifth Friday, the pantry will not be open on that day.

Donations may be made to the Portage Township Food Pantry and mailed to P.O. Box 1582, Portage, 46368. Excerpts compiled by senior editor lynn pay someone to write an essay in https://essaydragon.com olson vol
