Rob Thorgren

Thorgren is president of Thorgren Tool & Molding, which has been in Valparaiso since 1946. He is a fourth generation Valparaiso resident and also serves as the president of the Valparaiso Schools Foundation Board of Directors as well as the co-chairman of ValPLAYso The Next Generation.

Thorgren replaces David Smith on the redevelopment commission. Smith has served since 2005, including multiple terms as president.

The Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission is a six-member board, including one non-voting member representing local schools. The mayor appoints three voting members and one nonvoting member and the Valparaiso City Council appoints two additional voting members. For more information, visit Valpo.us.
