This will be a family friendly event that raises awareness for the older foster youth population (ages 16-21) and the Older Youth Services (OYS) that SAFY provides in partnership with Indiana’s Department of Child Services.

Proceeds from this event will assist OYS college-bound foster youth purchase college text books and any additional items needed to smooth the transition into living on their own for the first time. Any additional funds will go towards planning future events that continue to support the OYS older foster youth population.

Participants in this event will have the option to walk or run the 5K route, surfaces ranging from brick-laid to gravel.  Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place runners and children 12 and under who participate. There will be a designated person at the finish line to judge the placement of the runners. This will not be a timed race.

If you have a stroller, please note that the route will be have different surfaces, brick, gravel, wood chip, and depending on weather, may be muddy in some spots. Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Post-race refreshments will be provided (hotdogs, chips, drink). There will also be music, face-painting and treats for the children. Everyone is welcome including family or friends who don’t participate in the race.

Some teachers planned open-book tests or allowed the use of cheat sheets with chemical formulas or homework help using https://homeworkhelper.net/ math equations for tests, since they wanted to know if their students could use the equations, not if they could remember them
