Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-South Haven Unit is now accepting reservations for teams from local police and fire department to compete in the 8th Annual Battle of the Badges basketball tournament. The two-day Battle of the Badges tournament will be held on Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 8. Games begin at 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. All games will be held at the South Haven Unit, located at 723 Long Run Rd in Valparaiso.

Local police and fire departments can enter a team in the tournament and compete in the tradition of “heroes vs. heroes” for the coveted Battle of the Badges championship title.

Team registration is $150.  Availability is limited to eight teams. Police and fire department teams interested in participating in the tournament can contact Ron Ranta, South Haven Club director, at 219-759-2565 or at rranta@bgcpoco.org. Deadline to register a team is April 27.

All proceeds from the Tournament will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s South Haven Club. Admission to the games is only $3 for adults and $1 for children with an adult. A trophy will be handed out to the winning team immediately after the completion of the championship game.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has been opening doors to great futures for Porter County’s youth since 1971.
