Oscar and the Majestics performs great classic music with a variety of selections from the ‘60s,’70s,’80s,’90s and into the 2000s.  The group performs rock, some blues, and country as well, and have appeared in concert with Chuck Berry, The Temptations, and The Dells among others. Oscar and the Majestics entertainingly perform and enthusiastically play known artist’s famous classic songs, including Santana, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Beatles, Jimmy Buffet, The Who, The Temptations, The Eagles, Blues Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Miller, Credence Clearwater, Mellencamp and Country Rock, and many more famous artists with Classic Rock, some Blues and Country.  England’s “Shindig,” “Rolling Stone,” Chicago Tribune,” “Goldmine,” “Isthmus,” AllMusic.com, the “Northwest Indiana Times” and many more have given Oscar and the Majestics rave reviews.

Hot food, snacks, sweets and soft drinks by Von’s Victorian Bakery, Tea Room and Café will be available for purchase.  The concerts will serve as a collection place for donated canned and jar food items, baby food and nonperishable boxed grocery items for the Portage Food Pantry, and Gabriel’s Horn homeless shelter would appreciate personal and cleaning items such as personal hygiene items, toothpaste/toothbrush, lotion, paper goods, laundry and bar/dish/laundry soap, paper towels, safety razors, toilet paper, diapers, cleaning items, infant/children clothing, coats and gasoline gift cards will be collected.  Donations are not required to attend concerts.

The Summer Music Series is brought to you by Portage Township Live Entertainment Association’s Terry and Linda Hardin, Portage Chamber of Commerce Director Terry Hufford and Portage Parks Manager Lori Wilkie.  The series is made possible by grants from The John W. Anderson Foundation and Porter County Community Foundation, and by donations from local businesses and individuals.
