Community residents attending the workshop will discover how the needs of a parent can complicate the effective parenting of a teen; discuss how parenting teens is different than earlier years; will learn useful parenting skills for the teen years; will recognize the value and role as parent of a teenager. The workshop is designed to provide helpful ideas and information to parents, educators, and social service professionals.

The workshop is led by Tom Moeller, MS, LMHC, who has served in various capacities at the Family & Youth Services Bureau for more than twenty years and is currently the Director of Clinical Services.  Tom has a particular interest in the impact of substance abuse on adolescents and how to develop and support efforts by adolescents to succeed in spite of their history of substance abuse.
