The Portage Township Food Pantry recently received a $500 donation from the Riders’ Club of the American Legion Post 260. The money was raised from the group’s annual John Masson Run. Their display of generosity is one of many among the supportive businesses, churches, and organizations in our community. Together, this support makes it possible for the pantry to serve the many needy families in our community.

The pantry, which is located in the back of Neighbors New Vistas Educational Opportunities at 5391 Central Avenue, serves residents of Portage Township who meet federal income guidelines. Their hours of operation include the first, third, fourth Fridays of each month, along with the second Thursday.

Due to the holidays, the pantry will be closed on Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1, with the next open date being Friday, Jan. 8.
