Join Dunes Learning Center for a screening of The Land, An Adventure Play Documentary on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by a panel discussion on the importance of outdoor child-directed play.

Recently spotlighted by the National Geographic Short Film Showcase, The Land features a Welsh adventure playground where child-directed play is welcomed. Staffed by adult supervisors, the playspace is rooted in the belief that kids are empowered and understand their own capabilities when they learn how to manage risk on their own.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.  Be advised that the film contains adult language not suitable for young or more sensitive viewers. Tickets are $5. Space is limited and advance purchase is required. Event is held at the Indiana Dunes Visitors Center,1215 N. St Rd.49, Porter . For tickets or more information call 219-395-9555.
