Max is a 3 year old graduate of The TGIE prison training program. During the ten week program, he learned his basic obedience commands. According to his trainers, he was a pleasure to train and is eager to please his people. Max can be reserved around people he doesn’t know, but once he warms up to you, he will be your best friend. He is playful when the mood strikes him but also knows when it’s time to relax. Max is looking for his forever home. If you’d be interested in meeting him, contact our adoption coordinators at 219-395-4432 or adopt@americangreyhound.org.

If you’re familiar with animal rescue, you probably know how crucially important foster homes are to the welfare of animals in need.  American Greyhound is a rescue organization dedicated to saving unwanted greyhounds. Foster homes are the heart and soul of American Greyhound and without them, we are not able to save hounds that need us.

As a foster home, you help to provide a safe, loving home to a rescued hound while they wait for their forever family. If you aren’t ready for the lifetime commitment of adopting but want to help save lives, fostering may be a great option for you.

Fostering is also a great way to see if a greyhound is a good fit in your home if you are considering adoption. Fostering a hound comes with all the support of American Greyhound and their dedicated volunteers. All veterinary expenses are covered by the organization and we will provide all the supplies you may need for your foster hound, including a kennel.

All you provide is a roof over their head, food for their tummies, and lots of love. It really is that simple! If you have any questions or would like more information about fostering or adopting, please contact Foster Coordinator, Nicole Graves by phone at 219-395-4432 or e-mail . There is a hound out there waiting for you!
