Physical Therapist, Tracy Campbell, MPT

Award winning Physical Therapist Tracy Campbell, MPT, has joined the staff of Integrated Therapy Practice PC. Her goal is “being the premier therapist whom people seek out for their women’s health and pelvic pain and dysfunction.”

Campbell holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Findlay in Ohio. She is a licensed physical therapist in Indiana and Illinois with more than 15 years’ experience. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Section on Women’s Health, and the Chicagoland Pelvic Floor Research Consortium. The Indiana chapter of the APTA honored Campbell with the Emerging Leader Award in 2009 and the University of Findlay presented her with the Physical Therapy Clinical Performance Award in 2003.

Campbell was first exposed to physical therapy at age ten when her father was recovering from cancer surgery.

Campbell began in women’s health physical therapy out of her own personal research as to ways that a physical therapist can help with the pain of child birth without having to have drugs.

“Upon completion of a clinical rotation in women’s health, I learned about all of the other conditions, in addition to pregnancy and labor, that can be helped by physical therapy,” Campbell said. “After practicing a few years, I added the treatment of male patients to my practice. This has given me an opportunity to give back to men with cancer, just as my dad received therapy for his cancer when I was a little girl.”

Campbell said she loves being able to effect meaningful change into a person’s life.

“I love seeing smiles when people set a goal and are able to meet it,” Campbell said. “Despite spending so much time on patient education, I swear I learn just as much from my patients. Sometimes the body is like solving a puzzle and we have to figure it out together.”
