The Izaak Walton League of America Porter County Chapter was excited to announce their presence at the Porter County Fair this year.  IWLA-PCC is best known throughout Porter County for its advocacy for the Indiana Dunes and its Family Nature Night events which they organize at local elementary schools.

Their slogan is “Defenders of soil, air, woods, water, and wildlife.” PCC displayed a booth on educational conservation material and free, fun activities for young guests, like bird house kits for families to build.  Alternating special guests with PCC during the Fair were; Taltree Arboretum, Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehab Center, Mark Daniels Bee Company, 4-H Trackers, NWI Makers, McCarthy Boas, Master Gardeners, Master Recyclers, Flying Fox Conservation Fund, Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehab Center, Porter County Wildlife Board, Westchester Township History Museum, Westchester Public Library, Porter County  Museum, Erica Wayne and Mike Echterling from the “Go Outside with Conservation Mike” show on WVLP 103.1FM who recorded for future shows.

If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of conservation in your community, the Izaak Walton always welcomes new members.  For more information, visit them on , or the website at , or call .
