The Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center is seeking nominations for its 26th Entrepreneurial Excellence (E-Day) Awards, which maintains the tradition of honoring region entrepreneurs and advocates.

Nominations are due by Friday, Aug. 25. They include the following categories: small business person of the year, entrepreneurial success, small business exporter, young entrepreneur, minority-owned small business person, family-owned business, emerging small business and small business advocate.

Entrepreneurs with a three-year track record of growth in the seven-county NW-ISBDC area of Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Jasper, Starke, Pulaski and Newton counties are eligible.

Nomination packets and category details are available by visiting www.edayleaders.com or by calling the NW-ISBDC office at 219-644-3513.

Winners will be honored at the luncheon event set for Nov. 8 at the Avalon Manor in Merrillville.

“As we marked our 25th anniversary in 2016, we also had to say good-bye to our event location. We are ready to launch a new chapter at a new venue while still following our core mission to focus on the impact of entrepreneurs in our region,” said Lorri Feldt, regional director of the NW-ISBDC.

Serving seven counties in the region, the NW-ISBDC offers no-cost assistance for entrepreneurs starting or expanding their businesses. Through one-on-one consulting, the NW-ISBDC helps guide small businesses toward their goals by offering referrals, workshops, training opportunities and other essential business tools. It is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Small Business Administration, the State of Indiana and other local partners.
