Office space available.

We have lots of news and happenings going on at our organization, including the start of the Energy Assistance season. Check out our volunteer and job opportunities as well as office space and chair lift availability.

Energy Assistance Program – We have the opportunity to serve the community through the Energy Assistance Program. It is an income-eligible program that helps seniors, individuals with disabilities and those who are struggling to pay their energy bills. When participants qualify for a determined amount, the payment is electronically paid to the appropriate energy company.

Those needing assistance will meet with our EAP team of staff and volunteers. Expected items to bring include: social security cards for all individuals in the household, proof of income for the last 12 months for everyone in the household that is over 18, the most current energy bill and a disconnect notice if there is one.

Additional documents and information may be needed. To schedule an appointment, call 219-464-9736. Visit www.portercountyacs.org/energy-assistance/ for more details.

Volunteers Needed – We are looking for additional volunteers to help with the Energy Assistance Program. Community members who have a strong background working with people one-on-one and who have patience as part of their skill sets would work well in this role.

To give your time during the season that runs through May, contact Bruce Lindner at 219-465-7144 or email bhlindner@portercountyacs.org.

Office Space – Are you part of a business or organization looking to rent office space in Valparaiso?

We have 2,500 square feet available at our building located at 1005 Campbell St. in Valparaiso. The space has cubicles, a private bathroom, kitchen area, small offices, a large space, multiple points of access from the outside and inside for employees and the public and 11 parking spaces specifically for the occupants.

Chair Lift Available – We have been given a like-new Acorn chair lift that was donated from a community member.

We are looking to pass it along to a community member in need. The chair lift needs to be picked up from our office and installed by the recipient’s family or friends. It is not too heavy and will fit easily in the back of a pick-up truck.

While not necessary, we would be happy to accept a donation if the recipient wishes to do so.

Job opportunity – We have positions open for part-time and full-time bus drivers. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, contact us at 219-464-9736.
