Lakeshore Public Media’s Vice President of Development Wende Burbridge has been selected to serve on the board of directors for the Public Radio Association of Development Officers (PRADO).

“I am honored to have been selected by my peers to serve on the PRADO Board,” said Burbridge. “I am eager to work with my fellow board members to help others in public media be successful in growing their stations and careers.”

PRADO is a membership-based organization that provides a supportive environment for public radio development professionals through a variety of projects and services including a mentor program and virtual idea house. The goal of the organization is to retain and advance the careers of those dedicated to public broadcasting development. Overall, there are about 200 members from stations across the country.

PRADO board members volunteer to serve a three-year term and are expected to participate on a variety of committees. They also make a financial contribution to the PRADO Scholarship Fund, which enables individuals working in public media to attend the PMDMC who would otherwise not be able to attend.

“PRADO has been a great resource to me in my nearly 14-year career with Lakeshore Public Media, so to be given the opportunity to further serve the mission of public broadcasting in this way is very exciting,” said Burbridge.

Lakeshore Public Media, which operates Lakeshore PBS and Lakeshore Public Radio 89.1 FM, seeks to be the recognized media resource for citizens of all ages to experience lifelong learning, celebrate human diversity, and engage in civic concerns – all to enrich the lives in communities we serve.
