Lake County Public Library Assistant Director Announces Retirement

Carolyn Strickland, Assistant Director of the Lake County Public Library, 1919 W. 81stAve. on U.S. 30 in Merrillville has announced her retirement as of Dec. 14, 2018. Mrs. Strickland became the Assistant Director in 2013, but has worked for the Lake County Public Library system for 39 years. During her time at the library she has held several different positions such as a children’s librarian, reference librarian, branch manager at the Highland Branch, book coordinator, head of the reference department, and branch services coordinator. While describing her time at the library, Carolyn stated “The thing I enjoyed the most about my time is that I got to work in so many different positions and with so many different people. It was never boring!”
