The Independent Cat Society has a whole new batch of Sweethearts for 2019. Eight cats have started campaigning and working to earn votes to win the title of ICS Sweetheart of the Year. The public can help its favorite win by donating to the ICS Sweetheart contest. Every dollar is one vote for a favorite.

The public can vote by visiting  www.catsociety.organd clicking on PayPal (be sure to indicate that the donation is a vote for a favorite sweetheart), or mail a check payable to Independent Cat Society, Sweetheart Contest, PO Box 735, Westville, IN 46391 (be sure to indicate on the check that this is a vote for a favorite sweetheart, or stop by the shelter, located on Rte. 6 and County Line Road in Westville during ICS adoption hours of Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Sundays, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., to meet the sweethearts and place the vote there.

Something new this year is voting on Facebook. Follow the ICS page at cast votes using the Sweethearts individual campaign fundraisers.

On March 2, the last day of the contest, the ICS will have a Sweetheart Day event at the Valparaiso Moose Lodge, 108 Indiana Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All teams will have a variety of things for sale, as well as prize baskets, baked goods and other items. While browsing team displays, the public can meet some of this year’s Sweetheart candidates and cast votes. The ICS will also be offering lunch.

The Independent Cat Society is a no-kill cat shelter and as a non-profit 501 © (3), is funded almost entirely through membership fees, adoption fees, fundraising events, and tax-deductible individual gifts.
