Lakeshore Public Media and Purdue Northwest are partnering to host a panel discussion and free networking event for professional women in the region.

Themed after the new book, “Brave, Not Perfect”, five Purdue Northwest Alumnae share their experiences and wisdom about what it takes to be a successful woman in today’s workplace.

The panel discussion will include women from a variety of backgrounds and industries.  The scheduled panelists are Colleen Hickman, president of the Northwest Indiana World Trade Alliance; Marsha King, dean of University of St. Francis, Crown Point Campus; Emily Larson, a structural engineer for Burns & McDonnell; Afsheen Mozammel, senior process engineer, DENSO; and Andrea Pearman, president & CEO of Diversified Marketing.

The event takes place on March 27 from noon to 2 pm at the Great Hall of the Dworkin Complex at the Westville campus of Purdue Northwest. Networking and light refreshments will follow the discussion.

More information is available at pnw.edu/womens-history.  The event is free, but attendees are asked to register at PWC.Eventbrite.com.

This networking event is the first of three such events coordinated in partnership with the Lakeshore Professional Women’s Conference.  These networking events were developed by the conference planning committee to continue the mission to encourage leadership, provide inspiration, growth and network while providing opportunities for previous conference attendee’s to stay connected.
