Kiwanis Balloon Fest to fill the skies with colorful displays

The Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana Balloon Fest returns Sept. 6-8 to the Monroe County Fairgrounds at 5700 W. Airport Rd. in downstate Bloomington.

The Kiwanis Hot Air Balloon Fest showcases colorful, enormous hot air balloons (some in special shapes), the Night Glow, tethered balloon rides, food vendors to entice the taste buds, commercial vendors for one’s shopping pleasure, entertainment, as well as other exciting events.

Other activities include the Kiwanis Idol singing competition, cornhole tournament, and the annual health and safety family fun in the gifts and handicrafts, sporting goods, toys and games, and food and beverage industries.

Additional attractions include helicopter rides, pyrotechnic sky riders, musical entertainment, bumper cars, rides, giant kites, 5K run/walk, Hawaiian Fest on Saturday, robotics team demonstrations, and fireworks.
