Internal medicine physician joins Porter Physician Group

 Sunil Patel, MD, an internal medicine physician, has joined Porter Physician Group.  Dr. Patel is accepting new patients at his office at Porter’s Valparaiso Medical Center, 2000 Roosevelt Road, Suite 104 in Valparaiso.

Prior to joining Porter Physician Group, Patel served as a hospitalist at Porter Regional Hospital where he treated patients during their hospital stay. He serves as the hospice director for the VNA of Northwest Indiana, is a past member of Porter Regional Hospital’s Medical Executive Committee, practiced medicine at Northern Indiana Occupational Medicine and was in private practice for many years prior to that.

Porter Physician Group is a multi-specialty physician group with seventy providers serving Porter, Jasper and La Porte counties from sixteen convenient locations.

Patel obtained his medical degree from the B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India, and completed his medical residencies at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and Franklin Hospital in Philadelphia. He is board certified in internal medicine. His areas of interest include general wellness and disease prevention, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and managing the care of patients with multiple or complex conditions.
