All Portage Township buildings and properties will remain closed through June 30, Portage Township Trustee Brendan Clancy announced.

To that end, buildings that will be closed to the public through the end of June include the:

  • Bonner Senior Center
  • Cemetery office
  • South Haven Fire Department
  • Township Administrative Building
  • Portage Township Department of Parks and Recreation

If COVID-19 data holds steady or begins to improve, the trustee will open park playgrounds, ball fields, and basketball courts on June 15 and picnic shelters will be open to rent for the Fourth of July weekend.  Social distancing guidelines apply, where possible.

Portage Township residents can connect with their trustee’s office by calling 219-762-1623 or visiting the website at portagetrustee.org and Facebook page at facebook.com/portagetownship.
