Members Advantage Credit Union recently donated $500 to the Portage Township Food Bank.

Members Advantage Credit Union (MACU) recently donated $500 to the Portage Township Food Bank. The money will help further the food bank’s mission in Portage, which includes, among other outreaches, providing emergency assistance to approximately 600 families in crisis situations.

Frank Beachnau, MACU president, said, “It’s a privilege to be able to help facilitate donations that make an impact on people’s lives in our communities. Food is a basic need that a lot of us take for granted, so we are grateful for the opportunity to remind ourselves and others of how fortunate we are to know where our next meal is coming from.”

Bob Havens, MACU executive vice president, added, “We have the ability to serve our members in the same manner as the big banks, while still being able to serve in our local community, and that is what we pride ourselves on.”

Members Advantage Credit Union is a locally managed, nonprofit, full-service financial institution. Open to anyone who lives or works in LaPorte, Porter or Lake County, Members Advantage has locations in Michigan City and Portage.
