The Chesterton Art Center is offering monthly children’s art classes taught by Jennifer Aitchison throughout the school year.  The art center will be zooming live virtual classes in May. On-site classes may be added later when it is deemed safe to do so.

All materials are included in the tuition and will be picked up from the art center once at the beginning of each month.  Classes are designed for preschool, elementary, homeschool, middle school, and high school ages.  Students of all ages will actively participate in learning while studying one of the major movements of modern art history each month.

All classes will include drawing throughout the month in some form.  Students will be exposed to a mix of mediums, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, drawing, weaving, paper arts, and more.

The schedule of classes is as follows:

Families must be current members of the Chesterton Art Center to receive the member rate.  A bag stuffed with generous supplies is included in the tuition and will be picked up from the Art Center.  Any supplies left from the month are for students to keep.

May classes begin on Monday, May 3.  For the month of May, children’s classes will focus on pieces celebrating spring, up-close nature, and the American female artist, including Augusta Savage, Georgia O’Keeffe and Mary Cassatt.
