Portage Y to participate in summer food program

The Portage Township YMCA will participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under and to persons over 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled. Free meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all participants. 

Meals will be provided at a first come, first serve basis at the Portage Township YMCA beginning May 28 and ending Aug. 10. For further information, contact Joanie Sulivan at 219-762-9622. 

All meals will be served from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Portage Township YMCA, 3100 Willowcreek Rd., Portage on weekdays from June 1 through Aug. 10.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language), should contact the agency where they applied for benefits.  Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at 800-877-8339.  Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
