Portage will host its 8th Annual Portage Brewfest.  This year we have put a twist on the event.  We have changed the name to Portage’s Best.   Proceeds aid two of the city’s largest non-profits, the Greater Portage Chamber of Commerce and the Portage Township YMCA.  Instead of incorporating a taco test as the event has done in the past, we will be asking food vendors to offer up their specialty dish to sample.  If you think you have the best dish around, please contact the Portage Chamber of Commerce at 219-762-3300 for a vendor application.   May the best dish win the Best Foodie award!

We are anticipating over 500 people to attend the event, enjoying not only the booze and specialty dish tastings, but the smooth sounds of Chad Clifford.  The Crawpuppies will be the main entertainment.  They are locally based and have a terrific following.

A common misconception is that the event is just for beer lovers, but that is not the case. Portage’s Best will also be serving up seltzers, hard ciders, wine, specialty cocktails and  non-alcoholic beverages. While the All Access Pass is the best bang for your buck, you can also purchase, Foodie Only or General Admission tickets through event.ontaptickets.com. This event is for Adults 21+ only and takes place at the new Open Air Pavilion at 6010 US Hwy 12, Portage, on Saturday September 18. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the Boozie/Foodie tastings will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the Crawpuppies taking the stage from 7:00 p.m. to  9:00 p.m.

Friends, food, booze and tunes is the perfect way to spend a September day.” Additional details and to purchase tickets visit event.ontaptickets.com. For more information, contact Erin Robles, erin@ymcaofportage.org or 219-762-9622.
