Porter Senior Circle is a local chapter of Senior Circle Association, a not-for-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of adults age 50 and over. Their mission is to encourage the healthiest, most active lifestyle for seniors possible by providing programs that encourage continued learning, wellness, health and volunteering, coupled with a host of social activities.

“We have been a chapter for almost three years,” Cathy Goldschmidt, supervisor of Senior Circle and Healthy Woman Advisor, said. “We continue to grow in membership and currently have almost 600 members.”

For $15 a year, members get more out of life through health talks, in-hospital benefits and local business bargains. Members will also receive discounts on prescriptions, vision care and personal emergency response systems, and many more valuable member-only discounts and privileges. Goldschmidt said that many people are impressed with this value.

It is the goal of Porter Senior Circle to offer seniors in the community an outlet where they can participate in activities and share common interests with other seniors, while at the same time promoting health and wellness.

Members will experience fun and fellowship participating in a full calendar of social events

“We typically offer a variety of fitness programs and health education programs throughout the year,” Goldschmidt said.

All members receive a subscription to a bi-monthly chapter publication, and our national award-winning quarterly magazine

Porter Senior Circle welcomes anyone 50 years of age or older to become a member. For more information, contact the Senior Circle Advisor at nwiseniorcircle@porterhealth.com or call 219-263-5087.
