The Independent Cat Society is having Kittenpalooza from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at the ICS Shelter, U.S. 6 and County Line Road in Westville. This event will showcase the kittens and young adult cats available to new homes. It gives them a chance to demonstrate just how much fun they can be. Visitors can watch the kittens in action or grab a toy and get in on the fun themselves. It will include games, refreshments, face-painting, music and a cake walk. The Black Cat Boutique will be open, selling toys, catnip, cat grass, hand-painted cat birdhouses, Mouse Houses (our unique cat toy box). It will also feature kitten souvenirs, including little stuffed kittens that come with a bandana of your choice. Don’t forget to visit the older adult cats wanting new homes. Furry Fun Fair humane education activities will also be offered. The Furry Fun Fair originally came about several years ago in response to an incident where some children poured bleach on a cat.
