Hodges named to Ivy Tech advisory board

W. Dennis Hodges

Chancellor J. Guadalupe Valtierra of Ivy Tech Community College Northwest Campus has invited W. Dennis Hodges of Merrillville to serve on the institution’s Regional Diversity Council for his expertise in working with foreign diplomats in Chicago.

Valtierra has also appointed him to serve on college’s Health Education and Training Services board of directors. Hodges also serves on other boards to include the Appendix Cancer Connection in Crown Point, Northwest Indiana Lutheran Hispanic Mission in Valparaiso. He is the vice president of business relations of the Indiana High Speed Rail Association, a group that he founded in 1994 based in Highland. In addition, he is a volunteer special projects coordinator for Rebuilding the Breach Ministries, Inc.; better known as the Bakery House in Gary, and chairman of the Board of Communication Services at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School in Crown Point.

Hodges is a professional writer and corporate event planner. He is working with Indiana University Northwest to set up a Focus Group on high speed passenger trains.
